I have played many HOGs over the years and this one simply didn't grab me. Art was ok and it did have an original concept being in wartime. However, to my surprise, it was quite short. I tend to take my time and I finished in 4 hours. It was very easy too. I play on casual mode and didn't require a walkthrough at all, which is very rare. You are really held by the hand, so if you're looking for a challenge, don't play this!!Overall, I found the game to be very boring. It was missing a spark along the way. Lots of HO scenes and mini puzzle, but storyline was poor. 5 out of 10 for me. Definitely buy when on a sale which is what I did.. Agent Carter: Secret episode.. Definitely too short. Storyline doesn't make much sense. Still, I had fun with the puzzles. And you get to fight Nazis, so that gave it an Indiana Jones vibe I enjoyed. Definitely buy it WAY on sale.. This is not a good hidden-object game. I wasn't impressed by the gameplay or graphics at all. Most of the hidden objects looked blended together with the background. The gameplay was tedious and boring. I never felt like I needed to hurry and help someone in the game. There was no element of surprise, danger, or urgency. There was a place called The Secret Room. There was a hidden-object scene in The Secret Room. I was supposed to click on a Sagittariaus symbol. Nothing happened when I did that. It was impossible to finish that hiidden-object scene. I had to request a refund for this game. Most of the Artifex Mundi games are much better than this one.. Yep, another decent hidden object game from Artifex Mundi. The puzzles in this one require some lateral thinking. ***. During World War II, a course to retrieve the mythical Spear of Destiny, destined to help people rule the world, is happening between Axis and Allies. Agent Walker is sent to destroy it after it was localized in France. However, once there, she fell in a trap...The Spear of Destiny... it's not the first time that I've heard about it: another casual adventure game has the same object in a similar setting and I still remember that a similar artifact was one of the objectives of Lara Croft in Chronicles.Agent Walker is another twist: while the Spear is found early, Nazis managed to retrieve it as she fell into a trap. The result is the chase through a village and underground temples. However, the Spear of Destiny isn't the only thing: there is a colossus you need to finish as it's protecting the Spear and the machine that can destroy it is situated elsewhere. Some twists are also present, though I would have preferrd more interaction with enemies and more explanations on the twist. However, Agent Walker is pretty standard on the gameplay: hidden objects scenes to clear (relatively easy, though some items are changing appearance), puzzles (also easy), find items, combine them, use them to advance. Some of the scenes are also with silhouettes to find and to use (without forgetting the only puzzle thrown into the scene). The graphics are good, but I would have preferred more World War II-related things: I could imagine Agent Walker captured or travelling across Europe or even more confrontation with the real enemy. The soundtrack is good too.Agent Walker: Secret Journey is an average game, not really the best in Artifex Mundi's catalogue (if they developed it, it would have been better) but not the worst, far from it.. This game looked really cool. I was very excited for a new game from Artifex Mundi because I just love their games. I have 14 of them. But this game.... The story just wasnt really there. I thought it was all about finding this artifact but I found it within 5 minutes. I wanted to keep trying but I just couldn't keep playing. I would reccomend buying a different game from artifex mundi they have a lot of really good games, this one just isnt one of them.. Honestly not one of the better games that Artifex Mundi have put out. It takes a lot of the classic Artifex Mundi puzzles and techniques and uses them so sloppily that you really have to wonder if they put any thought into it at all, or just tossed them in there because, hey, that's what these games do, right? The whole game is a mess. It's playable, and that's really the only praise I can give it.. Game InformationAgent Walker: Secret Journey is an Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game that was developed by Brave Giant Studio and published by Artifex Mundi.Game VisualsI want to mentioned that the visuals in the game is nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.Game AudioI want to mentioned that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.GameplayThere are four different game difficulty modes to choose from: Casual; Advanced; Expert and Custom. The notebook keep tracks of the progression in the game. Such as story events and clues. There is an interactive map in the game. It allows the player to fast travel between each locations quickly without having the need to constantly backtracking. It also indicates that there are variety of tasks that can be completed at various locations within the game. The inventory panel automatically comes stationary. There are some interactive items in the game. Some of the interactive items may require extra components before they can be interact with. All interactive items are marked with a symbol in one of the corners. The hidden object scenes consists of the following: Find 'x' amount; Shadow items and Traditional word lists. Some of these hidden object scenes may require a little or no interaction. Most of the hidden object scenes can be replayed in the game's extra feature section. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them. Most of the puzzles can be replayed in the game's extra feature section as well. There are three sets of collectibles in the game: Military Uniforms; Doll Figurines; Miniatures. All of the collectibles are scattered throughout the game for the player to find. There are sixteen different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that needed to be completed before they can be unlocked.MiscellaneousThere are extra features in the game: Wallpapers; Interview; Concept Art; Soundtracks; Mini-Games and Hidden Object Scenes. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed. There are five different trading cards to collect. The game only drop three of those trading cards. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its' Booster Pack Creator.Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.. Irony Curtain Premiere TODAY with 10% OFF!: Comrades! We’re at the finishing line of accomplishing a dream we’ve had for a very long time – publishing our own point and click adventure. Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love is now live!https://store.steampowered.com/app/866190/Irony_Curtain_From_Matryoshka_with_Love/Throughout the years of avid gaming, sleepless nights filled with solving puzzles and laughing at all the jokes we kept dreaming of bringing something to the table, enriching the genre somehow – and now we put Irony Curtain in front of you to gauge how we did. We tried to give you a classical point and click with all the things we loved about the old-school games such as the Monkey Island series, but also do something based on the experiences that shaped us – such as the reign of communism in Poland, which affected most of us in one way or another. https://youtu.be/UIMTQysqbOgWe joked about Irony Curtain being Deponia meets Papers, please – and we hope it’s true! It’s a classic point and click adventure, with a story that will keep you hooked, with fleshed out, relatable characters, full of humour and well-placed easter-eggs, riddles that will keep you puzzled, with a familiar interface, known from other p’n’c titles – all that without the elements that made us grit our teeth in the classics – the riddles can be solved by rational thinking (no dream logic!), some of them even have more than one ways they can be solved, it has good music – created by Peter McConnel and Arkadiusz Reikowski – and will keep you entertained for up to 10 hours! So, we’re calling on all point-and-click fans – we know you’re out there! Play Irony Curtain, tell us how we did! We hope that we managed to bring you a wave of nostalgia, laughter and some insight into the absurdities of communism. If you'd like to reach us, please don't hesitate to check out the Steam Forums. See you there!https://store.steampowered.com/app/866190/Irony_Curtain_From_Matryoshka_with_Love/. Irony Curtain: Revolutionary Update #2: Comrades! Our Leader has granted us another glorious update! Creating dialogues in Irony Curtain: Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love is a game full of different characters talking to each other. In fact, some puzzles can be solved only by choosing the right dialogue option. That’s why in today’s episode of Behind the Irony Curtain we’d like to tell you more about the process of creating dialogues in our game. Writing dialogues is just the beginning of the process. There are over 5471 lines of text in Irony Curtain and every one of them needs to be properly inserted into the game, to make sure all characters say exactly what Game Designer wants, in the exact time and place. Here’s how it looks in Irony Curtain: 1. Every game character usually has more than one dialogue line. One of the ways to operate it is to use logical TRUE/FALSE flags. These flags helps us determine the state of knowledge of a specific character or whether an event of which the character speaks has already taken place. 2. Each dialogue is built in the editor as a separate “tree” consisting of successive “nodes” connected with each other by lines defining the order in which the dialogue of the character appears. 3. To be honest, “writing” dialogues is just filling the form fields. It looks more or less like this: Create a new dialogue in the editor and give it a name. Then inform Level Designer about the circumstances in which it should be launched (eg. when Evans checks on the Prisoner); Create the first Node (a red dot on the editor screen) and enter the necessary information (into the form on the right side of the screen): Who is talking The Dialogue text (or several dialogues if they should be drawn) (Optional) The Dialogue text when repeating the talk (Optional) If the dialogue happens not on the location but on zoom – whose head and on which side should it be displayed (Optional) Text display time (it’s useful when testing the game without recorded Voice Overs which determine the text display time in the finished game) Where the text should appear on the screen (e.g. over the character or over the radio speaker) (Optional) Actions to be made before or after the dialogue (e.g. acquiring an item or activating a logic flag “character X already knows about Y") Create another dialogue node and fill it in Connect the first node with the second one Rinse & Repeat ;)4. After creating the entire “tree” for all the dialogues we generate so-called “keys”. Keys consist of the location number, dialogue name, text position in the tree and the first letter specifying the character. 5. Thanks to this we can assign a specific Key to a Node, and not just the text. All texts with Keys can be saved to a shared Excel sheet with different languages. As a result, the different language versions of the game have the appropriate dialogues. That is all in this episode of Behind the Irony Curtain. We hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to add Irony Curtain to wishlist!https://store.steampowered.com/app/866190/Irony_Curtain_From_Matryoshka_with_Love.
